GYC SCHOOL COUNCIL

Meet our Team for 23/24

Chair

Hi I’m Seren and I want to become more involved around the school and I want to help out as much as I can and make a difference.

Secretary

I’m Millie and I am looking forward to being the secretary for this year.  I love chatting and really wanted to be on the council.  I want to help others and try and help to make our school the best.

I am Elsie, Ireally enjoy being part of the school council.  I think it is very important that we meet often.  When we meet, we can talk about finding ways of making the school a happy and better place.

I like being on the school council – I am really to keen to help out around the school and make it a fun place to be.

The school council I feel is important and I am willing and able to try and make a difference to my school.  I can help anyone if they need it.

I know that I can make a difference both in my class and outside on the school yard.

Being on the school council means that I can help out around the yard.  I am looking forward to showing visitors around the school when they come to see us.

Being part of the school council is fun.  I want to make a difference around the school and in the community.

LITTER LETTER

17/03/23

Dear Parents,

Yesterday we did a litter pick around our school grounds and outside the school fences and found an awful amount of rubbish which was really worrying for us. We collected 20 bags of rubbish! Most of the rubbish we found was chocolate wrappers, crisps packets and sweet wrappers.

As a healthy school we would like your children to eat a bit healthier and would like to remind you that at snack times children should only be eating fruit, yoghurt and cheese. We hope that this will help your children and also reduce the rubbish/litter we are finding in our school yard.

As part of the school council, we will be talking to all of the children in assembly about what we have found and about eating healthier at snack times in school.

We hope you will support us and send in healthy snacks for your child.

Many thanks

Seren, Sam and Mrs Hickey
